Event History
This is the first time submissions have ever been open. Our goal is to connect as vast an amount of art and artists as possible. Our ultimate goal is to produce long threads of art made in response to each other.
What Makes this event different?
We are unique in that the whole premise of the magazine is that it should be interactive. In future issues, there will be two options for submissions. You will be able to either submit a traditional, standalone piece of art (that will be open to response if chosen for publishing), or you will be able to submit a piece of art in response to something that was published in a previous issue. The art created by the staff in response to submissions for the first issue will begin the conversation between the art pieces and create threads that future submissions may be directed towards if the artist wishes.
Copyright Policy
The artist maintains copyright ownership to their art. The Editor of The RIM maintains copyright over the magazine and logos associated with the magazine, but the artist will never lose copyright of their art.
Image Usage Rights
After publishing the final website, it is possible that some images may be used alongside promotion of the magazine, but the artist will always be credited very clearly. Please let us know if you would prefer us to never use your image without payment so that we may keep it far away from any such advertisements.
Response to Intervention Magazine is a juried, online, international periodical for art. We are accepting the following (all subcategories are not listed):
1. 2D (photography, paintings, digital art, etc.)
2. 3D (clay, metal sculpture, mixed media, etc.)
3. 4D (audio, music, any time-based media art, video, etc.)
4. Poetry
You may submit to more than one category and you may submit more than one unique piece of art.
Submissions are open internationally. There is no fee to submit. There is no theme for submissions. There is no monetary prize for published art.
When a piece of art is approved to be published, the staff will create a piece of art in response to that specific submission. All art made in response will fall under a single theme, but will relate directly to the submission it is responding to.
The RIM’s goal is not only to connect a vast amount of art and artists under a common theme, but to continue relating the various pieces of art to each other throughout future issues.
Please send all submissions to submit2rim@gmail.com.
In your submission, please include your name, where you are from, the title of your submission(s), what materials you used, and any other comments you would like to provide about yourself or your art.
Please send any questions to thherim@gmail.com.
Our temporary website is response-to-intervention.tumblr.com and our Facebook page is facebook.com/thherim.
When our publishing website is available, we will post on all social media accounts associated with The RIM and will email all who have submitted.
..Blessings from The RIM…
