Call for Artists - In Memoriam Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II 1926 - 2022
Share your art inspired by Queen Elizabeth II
Biafarin presents The Queen, in honor of the memory of her majesty, Queen Elizabeth II.
In her obituary statement by BBC, Queen Elizabeth II is referred to as "the one constant point in a rapidly changing world", and we could not agree more. During her 70 years of ruling the United Kingdom, she witnessed substantial social and political changes around the world, such as WWII, the fall of the Berlin wall, the European Union, and the Covid Pandemy, and remained intact.
As BBC mentioned: "Throne was not her destiny; however, her long reign was marked by her strong sense of duty and determination to dedicate her life to her duties and people."
As Canada's Prime Minister, Justin Trudeau, wrote in a tweet: "she was a constant presence in our lives, and her service to Canada will remain an important part of our country's history."
In their messages, former American presidents, first ladies, and President Biden reminded us of her dedication and admiration for uniting commonwealth nations across the globe.
Mourning her passing and cherishing her memory have been mixed with criticism worldwide, as mentioned in an article by the New York Times.
Nonetheless, Google went colorless in her memory, Apple and many others marked her passing on their first page, and famous entrepreneurs and brilliant minds shared their condolences.
Not a usual passing, as she has been remembered by ordinary people, politicians, and other royal families for her grace, leadership, sense of humor, and longevity.
To carve her reign, life and passing in human history through art, we invite artists, working in any medium, from anywhere in the world, to share their artistic interpretation.
The submission and selection are totally free of charge, and selected artists will be showcased in an international online group exhibition, followed by the exhibition catalogue and promotions.
Furthermore, 3 artists with the highest rank in the exhibition will collectively win USD 3000 cash prizes.
