Art Competition for Artists Working in Portraiture

Artists worldwide are invited to participate in the 27th annual The International Portrait Competition, celebrating the best in contemporary portraiture and figurative art. Recognized as the premier portrait art contest globally, this prestigious competition is open to all artists, regardless of membership status. Submissions in a variety of mediums are encouraged and welcomed. Finalists will showcase their original artwork at The Art of the Portrait conference in Reston, VA, from May 8–11, 2025, where final judging and awards will take place. Attendance at the event is required for finalists.

Entry acceptance will close on February 17, 2025. Finalists will be announced March 17, 2025, and on Saturday, May 10, 2025 over $160,000 in cash and awards will be presented, with a $50,000 cash Grand Prize. 

All winners will receive recognition in International Artist magazine, The Art of the Portrait journal and on the Portrait Society's website.

All artists are invited to enter by uploading up to three entries through our online form, entry fee is $55.

Submission deadline for uploading your entries is on or before midnight (EST) on February 17, 2025.
