Shapeshifting: Exploring the West with Your Brush The landscape of western North America is one of wondrous variety. In this workshop, we will explore it with our sketches, paintbrushes, and colors. An artist can find evergreen-covered mountains and granite spires piercing blankets of snow. In the unparalleled beauty of the canyons and mesas of the desert Southwest, the spine of the earth is laid open to the shapemaker’s brush.
We begin with large, bold shapes that become the underlying foundation for our landscapes. Using this creative approach, we allow our paintings to be both subject-oriented and abstract.
