Event History
Founded in 2001, the Kimmel Harding Nelson Center for the Arts (KHN) stands as a distinguished Artist Residency program, providing support to established and emerging visual artists, writers, composers, and interdisciplinary artists on a global scale. Nestled in a residential prairie-style house in Nebraska City, Nebraska, KHN offers up to seventy-eight residency awards annually, accommodating five residents at a time. Residency awards, ranging from 2 to 8 weeks, feature a weekly $175 stipend, along with individual private accommodations comprising a bedroom, bathroom, and studio space for each resident.

The mission of the Kimmel Harding Nelson Center for the Arts is to support established and emerging writers, visual artists, and composers by providing working and living environments that allow uninterrupted time for work, reflection, and creative growth and to present and support arts-related programming that expands public awareness and appreciation of the arts.
