What Makes this event different?
It’s part of Art and Color 365’s mission to celebrate artists for the unique perspectives, amazing skills, beautiful imagery, and creativity they contribute to the world. We do this through regular feature stories in our magazine about significant artists and in monthly art competitions that showcase artists to bring them greater attention and offer broader outreach for their work.
Art and Color 365, a new bi-monthly art magazine, announces its July 2023 Pastels Art Competition. Entries will be accepted through June 30, 2023. All winners (1st, 2nd, and 3rd place), Special Merit, Artistic Recognition Award Recipients, and Honorable Mentions will have their artwork featured in the July/August 2023 issue of the magazine. Winners will be notified by email. Additionally, Art and Color 365 will write feature stores for the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd Place winners.
Entry Fee and Rules
- The entry fee is $25.00 for up to three pieces of art. Unlimited entries.
- Artists must be 18 years of age or older
- Artists may submit artwork that is at least 80% soft or oil pastel in any style and of any subject.
- Images may be realistic, abstract, or non-objective.
- All works must be original. “Original” means that the work must be created from the hand of a single artist and not be taken from other artists’ work or materials for which you do not hold the copyright. Artwork subjects and compositions may not be derived from other artists’ artwork or from artwork published in print or online. Copying another artist’s work or digitally drawing on top of another person’s photography or artwork does not qualify as original art. No AI artwork permitted. By entering the Competition, you are representing and warranting that your entry is your original work, that you have all rights needed to submit your entry, and that your entry does not infringe the rights of any third party. If the artist has created a derivative work from a photograph, you represent and warrant that you have contacted the photographer and obtained either permission or a license to use their work.

- $100 cash prize
- Multi-page feature about the winning artist in the July/August 2023 issue of Art and Color 365 magazine including five to ten additional images from the winner's art portfolio.
- Special placement of the winner’s artwork in an Art and Color 365 magazine exhibition of the Competition showcasing winning entries, special merit awards, artistic recognition awards, and honorable mentions
- Preferred placement in the Competition’s online exhibition at www.artandcolor365.com
2nd place:
- Multi-page feature about the winning artist in the July/August 2023 issue of Art and Color 365 magazine including up to five additional images from the winner's art portfolio.
- Special placement of the winner’s artwork in an Art and Color 365 magazine exhibition of the Competition showcasing winning entries, special merit awards, artistic recognition awards, and honorable mentions
- Preferred placement in the Competition’s online exhibition at www.artandcolor365.com
3rd place:
- Multi-page feature about the winning artist in the July/August 2023 issue of Art and Color 365 magazine including up to three additional images from the winner's art portfolio.
