Photo Exhibition
Theme: Diptych ~ Open Theme: A photographic diptych consists of two images that are presented side by side, that then form a cohesive work of art. Diptychs can tell a story by connecting seemingly unrelated images, create balance or symmetry, and explore themes of duality or contrast. This format allows photographers to experiment with composition, narrative, and visual relationships.
Praxis invites submissions that explore these concepts. If you haven't created a diptych before, this is a great opportunity to experiment by juxtaposing two images in a meaningful way. The submission guidelines for Praxis specify that the diptych must be printable on one sheet of paper and fit into preselected matte sizes. See guidelines.
All genres, capture types, black & white and color, traditional and non-traditional photographic and digital post-production processes are welcome for submission.
Juror: Ross Anderson. Ross Anderson is an award-winning fine art photographer and filmmaker. His honors include the 2009 American Photographic Artists Grand Prize Award and the 2011 International Loupe Award. His work has been exhibited in the US, Europe, and Asia. His work was recently selected for Creative Quarterly's issue No. 78 and will be featured in the CQ 2024 Annual book. Ross earned his MFA at the University of Falmouth in the UK. He currently lives and works in Minneapolis and is the program director at Praxis Photo Arts Center.
ACCEPTANCE & AWARDS: Up to seventy-four images will be selected by the juror for
exhibition at Praxis Gallery.
A Juror’s Choice, three Honorable Mentions, and a Director's Choice will be awarded and featured in:
• The exhibition
• The printed show catalog
• The online exhibit gallery
Juror’s Choice recipients will receive:
• Free entry into three juried calls for entry of their choice
• A complimentary exhibit book
Director's Choice recipients will receive:
• Free entry into two juried calls for entry of their choice
ENTRY FEE: $35.00 • $35.00 for a submission set of 5 images
• $5.00 for each additional image
• Praxis Members receive 10 images for the price of 5
• Payments are accepted via Credit/Debit Card through a secure online submission site
• The entry fee is non-refundable

ELIGIBILITY: International – All artists accepted.
COPYRIGHT & USAGE RIGHTS: Artists retain full copyrights to their own images.
• The artist's name and photo title will be included wherever the photographs are displayed.
• Accepted photographers grant Praxis Gallery the nonexclusive right to use submitted images for:
• The exhibition
• Artist promotion
• Related programs
• Praxis Gallery’s website, social media, and online exhibition archives
