Call for Entries for Artwork on Paper
During the 14th century, paper emerged as a favored medium for drawing and painting in Europe. The advent of printmaking in the 15th century significantly enhanced paper's significance in the art world.
CollexArt encourages artists to submit original 2D artworks on paper, whether traditional or innovative. Eligible submissions include, but are not limited to, drawings, paintings, printmaking, photographs, and collages.
About CollexArt
CollexArt is a curated online gallery where artists are often discovered through art calls held throughout the year. Featured artists have received awards such as Cash Awards, Purchase Awards, Artist Profile Pages, and Sponsored Artist Websites. We also occasionally select new work to add to our online exhibits.
AWARDS and Participation Benefits
$1000 Purchase Award
The Purchase Award is intended to support the selected artist/s with meaningful recognition as part of the CollexArt Collection. We will award a Purchase Award of $1000 at the conclusion of the call. The $1000 Purchase Award may be given to one artist or shared among 2 to 3 artists. The Purchase Award winner/s will be showcased in the CollexArt website.
The CollexArt Grand Prize of $5,000 – will identify a single artwork as the best of the year. The Grand Prize will be awarded in March of 2025. The prize will go towards the acquisition of the artwork, including if applicable, production, framing, shipping and customs costs.
Artist Profile Page
Submitting artists (including the Purchase Award winner/s) may be invited to have their own in-depth Artist Profile Page. We typically select between 2-4 Artist Profile Page winners.
Online Exhibit Space
Depending on the work that gets submitted we sometimes find opportunities to put together a new online solo or group exhibit. CollexArt online exhibits are permanently displayed in our site.
$1000 in Sponsored Artist Websites Powered by FolioLink
3 artists will be awarded one-year of the FolioLink artist website service. This award is intended to help artists who can benefit from a sponsored website.
*If you are a Purchase Award winner you understand that Kodexio (CollexArt developer / owner) intends to acquire your work. Artists submitting for the Purchase Award should value their work in accordance with prior sales history or the amount a gallery would pay for the work without their commission fee added.
Rules and Guidelines
Eligibility
Open to all USA and International artists who are 18 years and older
Accepting all original 2D artwork on paper
Submitted Work
- All submissions must be original artwork conceived and produced by the artist
- All submissions must be free from copyright infringement
- If submitting photography we will ask for release forms if needed
- Only digital files are accepted through the CollexArt submission system (powered by SubmitArts)
- Images must be saved and submitted as JPGs
- Images must be no larger than 1920 pixels on the longest side and no smaller 960 pixels
- Images must be 5MB or less
Entry Fee
The entry fee is $35.00 for up to 6 images and $2 each for each additional image up to 10 images in total. Submission fees are not refundable.
