Event History
A.I.R. Studio Paducah is now in its 15th year as an artist residency program. The residency is situated in the heart of the LowerTown Arts District, Paducah, Kentucky. As of 2004, creatives from around the country and overseas have passed through A.I.R. doors to make the most of the space and a stretch of undistracted time as was envisioned by founder Alonzo Davis, himself an artist.
With this residency an artist or photographer is afforded the time and space for focused, independent work, the development of new ideas and experimentation. There is high speed wifi for those who work digitally and the large studio can support various art forms. Visits to area cultural centers, galleries, and performance venues as well as short trips to regional arts facilities create a range of networking possibilities. For artists and photographers who seek nature for inspiration, the Ohio river is five blocks away as well as a number of lakes and hiking areas just out side of the city. A.I.R., itself, features a storefront gallery/multi-purpose space that can be used for exhibitions or presentations during the residency.
