Call for Entries for Fine Art Painters
The Abbey Awards offer artists the opportunity to fully immerse themselves in their practice, free from the demands of daily life. With accommodation, meals, and stipends included, Abbey Fellows and Scholars reside in the BSR’s dynamic international research community. They are provided with live/work studio ateliers, joining a network of independent researchers and practitioners across Fine Art, Archaeology, Architecture, the Humanities, and Social Sciences.
Abbey Fellowships are 3 month residencies with a stipend of £1500 per month. The Abbey Scholarship is a residency of 9 months and Scholars receive a stipend of £1250 per month. Three Fellows and one Scholar are selected annually.
Two Fellowships are available for the period of October 2025-Jan 2026, and one for January-April 2026.
The Scholarship period is from October 2025-June 2026.
Applications are now open, the deadline for completed applications is 12pm GMT, 17th January 2025. The application fee is £25/US equivalent. Fee Waivers are available.
