About Midvale Main The Redevelopment Agency of Midvale City is working to revitalize Midvale’s Historic Main Street by highlighting the areas unique culture, identity, history, and community spirit once again by transforming Midvale Main into an art, culture, and food district. The Redevelopment Agency of Midvale City is committed to partnering with local arts and community organizations and artists to host the annual Midvale Main Mural Festival, the Creators Conference, Food Truck Fridays, and the up-and-coming Art House, a public art studio located in the old Midvale City museum building on Main Street.
The Redevelopment Agency of Midvale City is seeking qualified artists, or artist teams, to participate in the 2nd annual Midvale City Mural Festival which is now known as Los Muros on Main. Featuring a series of murals created by local, national, and international artists, the event will take place on Saturday, June 10, 2023, from 4:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
To apply, artists must submit a Statement of Qualifications (SOQ) by Friday, March 24, 2023, @ 5:00 p.m. Selected artists will be asked to design and install a mural that is aesthetically pleasing, imaginative, iconic, and a welcoming feature for Midvale residents, business owners, and the Midvale Main Street area.
This call is open to mural artists and artist teams ages 18 and up. Artists agree to paint their murals sometime between May 30 and June 10, 2023, but all artists MUST begin painting no later than Monday, June 5, 2023, and must complete their mural by Saturday, June 10, 2023. Artists (or a member of each artist team) are expected to participate in the Midvale City Mural Festival by either live painting and finish up their mural during the festival or engaging with festival attendees. Artists must communicate to both RDA staff and the property or business owner a start date.
