Event History
In 2016, USPC created the Paris Festival des Idées. Every year in November, the Paris Festival of Ideas reaffirms the necessary link between science and society. The next Festival des idées Paris will take place from 20 to 24 November 2018.
What Makes this event different?
Every year, the Festival des idées Paris: -Explores a major societal challenge. -Encourages interdisciplinarity to offer multi-format high-quality cultural events for the general public. -Combines scientific research with artistic creation. -Enhances the missions of higher education and research to the general public, and consolidates the link between university research and society
Image Usage Rights
Authors of selected works will be notified by email. Photographs and texts will be printed and exhibited in a gallery of the USPC in Paris in November 2018. Submitted images and texts may be used in the event's social media accounts and printed media, along with the name and age of the author and the city the photo illustrates. Images are not to be sold or auctioned.
The Festival des Idées Paris 2018 is excited to invite amateur and professional photographers aged 18 years old and over from all over the world to participate in the photo exhibition (in)TANGIBLE – Fear in the city. Submission deadline: September 8th, 2018
Selected images will illustrate how fear and urban spaces are perceived according to age and gender, answering to any of the following questions:
- What scares you when you go out?
- What places do you consider unsafe?
- How does urban insecurity affect the way you live your city?
- How does insecurity manifest itself on the urban environment?
Send up to 3 photographs to intangible.photo@gmail.com For each photograph you must submit in the body of the email message a title and a caption (up to 200 characters), along with:
- Author’s full name
- City illustrated in the photograph, state, country
- Age
- Gender
No selfies.
The photographs must be in a square format, size 1 - 5 MB.
